OPEN LETTER TO THE SOUTHEAST GOVERNORS
Written by Mazi Ngozi Osuji.
Dear governors, compliment of the new month of September. I am compelled to write you this letter by the exigencies of the ugly events that have been happening in your political domain of the Southeast. I am highly appalled and disappointed by your seemingly lack of political will in assuming proper and gubernatorial control of your various states as it concerns your own people the Igbo race.
Before I proceed, permit me to call your attentions to the undeniable fact that you rode to power on the electoral franchise and geographical locations of the Igbo people. Whether you were dully elected or rigged into office, as it has become the disaster and shame of Nigerian brand of democracy, the fact remains that you are in power today as governors because of the geographical locations of your people. Even those of you who are clearly imposed on their states could not be there if the people are not there. Therefore, your people, who are mainly the Igbos are the bases and reasons and why you are occupying the exalted office of governor. It doesn't matter any longer whether you're rigged into power or imposed on your people against their will by the supreme court or any power.
Sirs, may I call your attentions to the fact that you are the chief security officers of your various states and by extension, the entire southeast region. It is the constitution of the federal republic of Nigeria that has granted you such powers as governors of your people. As governors you are the leaders of your people, while the constitution granted you with immunity while in office to enable you serve you people to the best of your abilities under democratic dispensation.
Bear with me because this letter might be a little lengthy though not exhaustible of the many woes bedevilling your political and gubernatorial constituencies of the Southeast which have compelled me to write. For easy reading, though, I have tried to subtitle this letter for the sake of emphasis and differentiation of the woes that need your urgent attention.
SECURITY OF YOUR PEOPLE IS IN TERRIBLE DANGER UNDER YOUR WATCH
As governors and chief security officers of your various states and Southeast regions as a whole, your primary duty must be to ensure the security and welfare of your people and protection of their land and properties. But today the Igbo people of the Southeast states has become endangered species under your watch as governors. Today, atrocities such as rape of Igbo mothers, daughters, abuduction and massacres of your youths are taking place on daily basis but you don't seem to be concerned about these evil. I wonder how you sleep at night.
Furthermore, I want to draw your attentions, for the benefits of hindsight, of the massacre in 2017 in Uzo Uwani, Nimbo, Enugu by Fulani herdsmen, the event of which could have been avoided had the governor of Enugu state taken precautionary measures to forestall the invasion of Uzouwani Nimbo in Enugu. I want to call your attentions to the various incidents of rape of Igbo mothers on their farms by Fulani herdsmen and killings of Ndigbo by the Fulani militia under your watch. Today mothers and farmers can no longer go to their farms to get food to eat.
THE PROSCRIPTION OF IPOB YOUR WORST POLITICAL BLUNDERS
Though, the southeastern governors are inherently known for moronic political blunders, but the most disastrous blunders of them all was the proscription of IPOB in 2017 following the murderous invassion of the house of the IPOB leader, Mazi Nnamdi Kanu, which you suicidally endorsed, with the tag of a terrorist organization. You know in your hearts of hearts that IPOB is never in anyway a terrorist organization. IPOB is an armless and harmless liberation movement for Biafran independence and you know it but you conspired with your own colleagues from the North to proscribe it and tag it a terrorist organization. Do you know how many thousands of lives of Igbo youths that the army destroyed during operations Python Dance2?
While you were busy proscribing IPOB, your northern colleagues were also busy consolidating their real terrorist bandits, Boko Haram and FULANI herdsmen to help them take over your land for them and displace your people simply because of your inordinate political ambition.
Sir, it is inevitable that the human tragedy caused by the infamous Python Dance 2 which had your endorsement is bound to hunt you naturally forever. IPOB should rather be your pride for political pressure towards your Igbo presidential ambition as OPC and Boko Haram are to the West and North respectively.
Your Excellencies, by antagonizing and massacring the Igbo youths, your own children, in the pretext that they are IPOB, you foolishly destroy your own walls of home defence, thereby exposing your selves to ridicules and eminent dangers.
EMENE ENUGU MASSACRES IS AN INDICTMENT ON YOU.
It is very disheartening and appalling that up to this moment no statement has emanated from you governors condemning the gruesome massacre of armless and harmless Igbo youths in Emene, in Enugu by a combined forces of the Nigerian DSS, Air force, and police during which 21 Igbo youths were massacred on the their prayer ground. One would expect that before such massive military operations can take place, the governor of the state should be in the know being the chief security officers of your various states.
Meanwhile, I want you to know that your silence over what is happening in the Southeast against the Igbos is an indictment on you and a betrayal of your oath of office to defend your people. You have obviously created a lacuna for conspiracy theories on you as co-travellers in the abominable attacks on your people by Fulani herdsmen and killings of Igbo youths by the Nigerian army and police.
SIEGE ON IGBO LAND AND FORESTS GROOVES.
If your intelligence network were ever active, you would have known before now that the entire southeast region is under siege by well organized terror gangs network who are positioned to sack your people through unpresidented attacks any moment before 2023. Miyetti Alah has been giving you notices of their intention to attack the southeast and born it down. The forests and jungles of Igbo land have been taken over by sophisticated armed terror gangs from the North. People can no long access their farms lands for fear of the terror groups occupying Igbo land, forests and farmlands. Cost of food in the Eastern regions have gone up beyond reach of the people. There is palpable fear of the unknown amongst the people. Hunger and starvation is pervading the Igbo population as people can no longer go to their farms to harvest food to feed their families.
THE SHAMEFUL RE-OPENING OF UNCOMPLETED ENUGU AIRPORT
Consequently, I am shamefully appalled by the charade and facade that was termed Enugu Airport reopening. It has been over a year Enugu Airport was shut down by the government for renovation as we were meant to believe. 10 billion naira was earmarked for this and since then no news about the completion of work on the Airport which is the only airport serving the Southeast. There has always been an anti-Igbo agenda in connection with the shutting down of the Enugu Airport in the first place two years ago.
The government did not shut down Enugu Airport in good faith to begin with. You will remember that people raised eye brows against it with many condemning it and protesting and doubting the good intention of government in shutting down Enugu Airport. My question is why did you allow the reopening of uncompleted airport with the lies that accompanied it. Why do you allow yourselves to be used as moles to bring down your own people and make life miserable for them?
Sirs, why do you allow them to force their shit and rubbish down your throat, with all your education, and Igboness? Why?
Sometimes I wonder if you guys are truly Igbo men. Why did you get into that mess of reopening Enugu Airport and lying that it has been completed with computer generated images to deceive our people and score fraudulent political point for the government that doesn't mean well for your Igbo race. This government is out to run the Igbo race down and you governors are willing moles and tools to help them achieve their evil goals.
Sirs, the most annoying and disastrous aspects of your moronic actions in reopening uncompleted Enugu Airport, is that you left what you should have been doing at the moment, which is the mourning of your children who are massacred in Emene Enugu by a combined forces of the army, Air force, DSS, and police, all under your watch as governors, fathers and leaders of your people.
The killing of 21 Igbo youths in Emene, Enugu is an indictment on you. You should be mourning and protesting the massacre, instead, you hurriedly went to reopen an uncompleted Enugu Airport as if the lives of the 21 Igbo youths don't mater; may be to divert attention from the trending massacre of your children thereby putting yourselves into a questionable situation of conspiracy; Or do you think you can use the reopening of uncompleted Enugu Airport to score cheap political points for the government.. The whole charade stinks of shame!
The American military intelligence chief recently shared an intelligence report about the free movement of ISIS into North western Nigeria with inward movement into southern Nigeria. As leaders of your people, are you going to sit down in the comfort of your temporary office and watch the impending genocide against the Igbo race under your leadership.
Miyetty Alah has said openly that they have floated their vigilante groups in all 36 states of the federation. Miyetti Alah is not indigenous to Igbo land. What right do they have to float vigilante groups in another man's land if it is not meant to conquer the southern region? What does these signs teach you governors?
Do you realize that for a terrorist organization as Miyetti Alah to float vigilante groups in Igbo land is a declaration of war? Are you still sleeping? Please wake up! There is fire on the mountain! A man whose house is on fire does not chase rats! How comfortable can you be over the blood letting of your youths, rape of your mothers and wives and abduction of your daughters.
Dear governors, are you still sleeping? Are you going to be in the river and allow soap to enter your eyes? Are you going to be at home and allow goat to deliver baby on the ropes? I am still baffled at your relaxed behaviors over the dangerous reality of Nigeria of today.
SECURITY AND INTELLIGENCE GATHERING
Sir, as governors and chief security officers of your states you're expected to spend your entitled security votes on intelligence gathering and security of your people's lives, land and properties. You must know the movement of troopes through your intelligence network, be it soldiers, police, air force or navy and these security forces are subject to your political office as governors.
POLITICS OF SELF PRESERVATION
I want to draw you attention, incase you don't know that your northern and western counterpart governors are no longer playing the kind of party politics those of you from the Southeast are playing today. The body languages and recent open actions of your fellow northern governors clearly show that they are in favour of the total conquest of southern Nigeria. The days of party or political correctness is gone forever. Today over 400 villages in your eastern region have been infiltrated by armed terrorist gangs termed bandits and herdsmen.
These bandits hold family meetings with your fellow governors in the north. What does that tell you?. The northern leaders have never one day condemned Boko Haram, neither herdsmen nor bandits. But here you are playing to the gallery by your unintelligent politics of correctness to please your own counterparts who are coming after your heads, instead of readjusting your strategy towards the politics of self preservation according to the reality on ground, as your counterparts governors in the west have done by forming Amotekun militia.
The Yoruba nation is predominantly dominated by the APC party, but the present circumstances in the country Nigeria has made party politics and political correctness unfashionable. Today your fellow western governors are playing what I call politics of self preservation, hence the formation of Amotekun security network to preserve the Yoruba race from being overrun and eliminated by the an eminent invasion by northern terrorist gangs well orchestrated by northen hegemony.
URGENT RECONCILIATION WITH IPOB IS NECESSARY NOW
Your Excellencies, if your intelligence gathering network has been activatived as it were, you would have known by now that this government at the centre has not come to rule Nigeria but to use the enormous military force at her disposal to help the northern caliphate to conquer the southern region, islamize it and funalize it. I want you to know that Boko Haram are the brainchild of the caliphate and the northern hegemony, and that is why your fellow governors from the north can never condemn their atrocities.
Nonetheless, the western governors having seen where the North is going, which is to conquer the southern region and displace their people with Fulani of Africa, rather than begin to fumble, as you are fumbling, they strengthened OPC by renaming it Amotekun security network and equipped it; to do what?; to protect and defend the Yoruba race of course. They didn't say because they are APC, their land should be taken over by Fulani or their people be wiped out as you people are doing in the East.
Therefore, there is an urgent need for you to reconcile with IPOB now. IPOB is the only formidable army that the entire Eastern region can depend on to defend the people and the land. Do not reconcile with them on any basis which will discourage the agitation for Biafra. Do not ask them to drop the agitation for Biafra. Support them morally and financially to boost the momentum for Biafra sovereignty. With the agitation for Biafra gaining momentum as it were, if they truly believe in one Nigeria, nobody will tell them to zone the president to the Igbo.
In reconciling with IPOB, you must grant them undiluted support openly or covertly to boost and increase the momentum for the actualization of Biafra independence. IPOB has what it takes to defend the Eastern region because of her intelligence network, millions of volunteers, its strategy based on command and control plus her formidable global spreads. IPOB's diplomatic engineering is second to none, and with her diplomatic onslaughts, it has weakened Nigeria's foreign relations base by exposing her dirty democratic underbelly which is largely dented with blood of her citizens which she has been murdering in terroristic circumstances. IPOB's diplomatic manoeverings in the global world has cost Nigeria her international respect in diplomatic circles. You should proudly embrace IPOB rather than trying to destroy them.
DELUSIONAL IGBO PRESIDENCY
Your recent clamour for Igbo presidency is delusional, and unachievable. By dangling the idea of Igbo presidency to you, the North has succeeded in setting you up for the most disastrous experience of your political careers in Nigeria. The truth remains that the northern caliphate will never cede power to an Igbo man because of their avowed goal to conquer the southern region and subject her people to their northern Islamic whims and caprices.
Their second reason why they will never cede power to an Igbo man is because their fear of an Igbo president in helping the restoration of Biafra. They are also in agreement as a national conspiracy with the West to hold the Igbo man down in perpetuity between the north and West.
Thirdly, there is a northern agenda to conquer the southern region for all Fulani of Africa to occupy. Your people will be driven away from their ancestral lands and homes using Jihad, massacres, rape and abduction as instruments of intimidation of your people into submission. You have to open your eyes and try see what is about to befall the great Igbo race if you continue to behave as if all is well with Nigeria or that things will get better.
NOBODY WILL BE SAFE INCLUDING YOU IF YOU SALE YOUR PEOPLE FOR A MERE PROMISE OF IGBO PRESIDENCY
Sir, "A man who sells his brother can never be trusted by his buyer".
Please go back to history and know how the Fulani functions. Anywhere they want to conquer, they first of all use a few locals of the place as moles to penetrate and occupy. They will preach anti- corruption by accusing the leaders of the place of corruption and offer to help stop it. Mean while, they are very corrupt themselves. Use Buhari regime as an example. He came to fight corruption presumably, but today his government is stinking in corruption.
However, let me take you back to a historical memory lane just incase you don't know. In 1884 , a Fulani man called Malam Alimi entered Ilorin with his followers preaching Islam. He approached general Afonja, commander of the Yoruba army of the then Oyo empire under the Alaafin. In time Malam Alimi began to complain of corruption in the the Yoruba system. He promised to help general Afonja to fight corruption in the Yoruba government of the then Oyo empire. He ended up in planting Afonja as a mole in the Yoruba system of administration in Ilorin after promising Afonja that he will help install him as Oba of Ilorin. Afonja fell for his antics and deceit and together with Alimi and his men the Alaafin was assassinated.
However, Afonja was installed as the Oba of Ilorin after the assassination of the Alaa-fin by Malam Alimi and his gang of Fulani jihadists but he reigned for only six months. Alimi and his men latter plotted and murdered Afonja and wiped out his entire family. Alimi went to Sokoto thereafter, and brought the Islamic flag and hoisted it in Ilorin and made himself the first emir of Ilorin. This is how Ilorin, a former Yoruba kingdom became a Fulani emirate till this day. Are you still there?
Still on historical hindsight, in 1968, a gallant Biafran fighter named Isaac Adaka Boro, from the Niger Delta region of Biafra betrayed the Biafran struggle and chose to fight for Nigeria against his own people. He won many battles for the Nigerian side and towards the twilight of the war he was ambushed and assassinated by the Nigerian forces. Does that teach you a lesson.
Between 1967-1970 a prominent Biafran intellectual from Ogoni region of Biafra named Mr. Ken Sarowiwa betrayed the Biafran struggle, and pitched tent with the Nigerian military government of General Yakub Gowon and helped them to formulate a good number of anti-Biafran policies such as "Abandoned Property", food blockade and £20 payout against his Biafran people. He was a very good friend of general Abacha. In 1995, Abacha plotted and hanged him and eight others to death for demanding for devolution of power for Ogoni people. A devolution of power Biafrans went to war for which he betrayed. Are you still there?
Sirs, does the above story teach you any lesson of what will befall you if you ever capitulate under the Fulani antics and deceit of an Igbo presidency. A word is enough for the wise. If you give them chance to kill your people because of their promise to make you an Igbo president come 2023, after killing everybody around you they will kill you too. They will never allow Igbo become president of Nigeria. Did you know that the late Abba Kyari was warming up to contest for the presidency. Do you know that right now Nasir El-Rufai of Kaduna wants to contest. Do you know that governor Tambuwal of Sokoto State wants to be president in 2023? Do you realize the chairman of INEC is Fulani and will rig you out for a Fulani man or for Tinubu. The highest you can get is a running mate or vice president which will mean perpetual suffering and slavery of the Igbo race because the vice president is a glorified house boy to the president in Nigeria.
THE BIAFRAN QUESTION AND INDEPENDENCE.
Dear governors, before I conclude this letter, I want you to put on your thinking caps and wake up from your slumbers and refuse to be fooled by anybody's deceitful antics about Igbo presidency come 2023.What the entire eastern regions want now is freedom. Freedom for your people is bigger, better and eternal than a mere president of only four years of sharing same country with terrorists. Even if they give you Igbo presidency, they will frustrate you with impeachment.
Remember they enjoy unmerited majority in the national assembly. Your Igbo presidency will be bombarded with intrigues and crises until you can no longer perform optimally.
Any Igbo president if it ever happens will be handpicked by the caliphate with conditions to do their bidding as a political stooge of the north, therefore, he will never function optimally. He will serve the interest of the northern caliphate to the detriment of the Igbo race and southern regions people.
Therefore, the best thing that every Igbo man and woman want now is freedom for Biafra. If you help get Biafra now you will be entitled to vie for political leadership in a free Biafra. Biafra will build an enviably thriving political economic base for leaders like you to showcase your talents in governance.
Your Excellencies, I urge you to reason beyond personal aggrandizement, envy, and greed, political correctness and party politics, but consider the bright future and greatness a free Biafra holds for all of us, our youths and our generations unborn.
Finally, consider the enormous suffering of Igbo youths in foreign lands who travel abroad to suffer degradations of all kinds including various imprisonment and some times executions because here the Nigerian system is fashioned to kill their destinies and destroy their futures. But with a free Biafra our scientists, medics technocrats, and engineers who are wasting abroad will return home to build a viable society for all Biafrans. Thanks as you ruminate over these facts and use your exalted offices of governor to protect your people from impending dangers. Oh yes you can!
